Set in the historic centre of Matera, the hotel is located in a picturesque square, in the middle of the 2 Sassi, the historic centre and the modern part of town.

All the suites are different from each other and contain both antique furniture and articles of modern design. As a result of the rediscovery of the original plasterwork, antique decor, arches and the huge medieval walls that protect the little entrance street and the courtyard on the ground floor, you can feel like you are living in times gone by, an era full of history and tradition. Take a walk along the pleasant terraces of the living areas and along the original passageways that look out over the old tiled rooftops. From here you can admire the maze of alleyways and little streets that wind along towards the 2 Sassi, the nearby churches of San Francesco d'Assisi, Del Purgatorio and the 13th century Romanesque cathedral and the green Murgia plains which slowly turn brown as summer rolls on.
Breakfast is served daily from 07:30 to 09:15. Being situated in the historic centre, the hotel is very close to several characteristic restaurants and typical trattorias which offer special prices for guests of Albergo del Sedile.
By Air: The nearest airport is Bari Palese, from where a shuttle bus leaves to Matera.
