Facing Cork City Hall, the Clayton Hotel Cork overlooks the River Lee. It offers beautifully designed air-conditioned rooms, a health and spa centre with pool, and a fine restaurant.

Good location, nice staff. We were upgraded to a bigger room with a bath which we enjoyed. The building is old (so you hear creaks and neighbours) but everything worked. Bed was comfortable too.

The people/locals are extremely friendly and helpful.
The people/locals are extremely friendly and helpful.
Some of the bus routes/stops could have been clearer ie 225/226 from Cork City centre to the airport - random bus sign with no number marking outside a hotel however bus drivers were super helpful with directions.
The Blarney Castle was worth the visit if you like Gardens and history. Fitzgerald Park was a bit of a trek and wasn't really that exciting.. Good if you want some quiet time in nature in a OK park. However the English market is great with lots of choice of worldwide foods, seafood stalls were impressive and the poke bowls and sandwiches were also mega for takeaway options.

It was my first ever trip in Irland and Cork was a great introduction. I first visited the Nano Nagle Centre, then went up to Shanagarry for the night, had an amazing dinner at Ballymaloe before moving on to Blarneythe following day. Rising Sons Brewery is a great venue and the brewery tour is very interesting. Maureen's is also a great bar, very comfortable and the decoration is enchanting. Finally, Blarney Castle and Gardens are amazing.

Lots of hustle and bustle, there were a good amount of street entertainers/ buskers. A good selection of shops. The energy was great overall. I noticed a lot more homeless people than the last time I was there. A strong smell of pee from some of the streets.

We stayed in Cork because it was central to other things we wanted to see. That was a mistake. Cork is just a big city. Not overly pretty, not much to do. The English Market is very active and interesting. There are many restaurants and bars. We accidentally booked an apt on a busy street, and it was noisy all night. I wouldn't recommend anybody visit Cork.

The city is very clean and tidy.
The city is very clean and tidy. A visit to the stunning University College of Cork and the lovely Fitzgerald Park can take about half a day each as they are both so amazing. There is a public museum and cafe in Fitzgerald Park. There are many lovely views of the River Lee both in the city centre and around. There are lots of green spaces and the people were friendly. I only went for 3 days on a business trip but would have liked to have spent much more time there to see the other sights of interest such as the Blarney Castle, Cork Goal and Cobh - where the lovely coloured painted houses are. Two weeks in Cork would be ideal for me.
Incredibly comfortable beds and lovely powerful shower. The hotel is centrally located, so easy to reach everywhere you need in the city centre on foot. Close to the bus station and not far from the train station. It was expensive but then so were many of the hotels in central Cork and we wanted to stay centrally - so not really a complaint just an observation. We were very happy with our stay. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel, chose to eat out but the restaurant looked nice enough. Staff helpful and friendly.
We had a family night away in Cork city, this hotel hits all the right notes for a family stay. Staff were friendly, helpful, and presented as staff that enjoyed their work and were respected and treated well by management. Staff were kind and friendly with our children. Lovely rooms, simple, smart, and minimalist decor throughout, great breakfast. Great location in a residential area only minutes walk from city centre. We'll be back....
Myself, husband and 2 children stayed at the Clayton for 2 nights to visit family.
Staff were lovely and very accommodating and the hotel itself is a short walk to the city centre.
Rooms are spotless and the beds are very comfortable.
The pool was lovely and clean, there is a separate shallow pool which the children could go which is great if you wanted to do a few lengths.
All in all, great hotel and will be staying here again.
Stayed for one night from the 9th to the 10th of june for a concert at live at the marquee
Very nice hotel lovely reception area
Staff very nice and attentive
Kristina who checked us in was very helpful and friendly
Location was very good close to the city centre
Breakfast was very good
Lovely facilities
Would definitely rebook this hotel is I was going to cork again
Such a very spacious room . Enough for 4 people since the hotel provides us with 2 queen beds. Breakfast need to order from the waiter. Very nice view to see Cork town as a whole. Only 3 minutes walking to Griffith College Cork. Even though a bit far from city centre , but the taxi is quite easy to get.
Compared to other hotels during our trip around Ireland, this one was like a factory. Plenty of people in every place, cue to the reception. However, it was modern, rooms of reasonable size, clean. Our room had a river view, so very pleasant.
Underground parking, good location.
The family made the stay exceptional. They are warm, generous people. If I return to Cork, I will definitely stay at Redclyffe. Also the location is perfect. There is a beautiful park behind the guest house. A beautiful place to enjoy the splendor of Ireland, especially Cork.
Room size ok. Comfortable bed.
Breakfast selection was ok. We could choose between 4 different 45 minutes visits even though the hotel was far from fully booked.
Free parking just outside.
Buses to the city centre also going outside the hotel.
The hotel and view are breathtaking. I especially liked the aerial glass walkways from the incredible bar to the hotel balcony restaurant. All overlooked Cork city and a lovely formal garden on the grounds.
The hotel is gorgeous and the room was very comfortable and spacious. It is a great location in the city centre, next to shops and lots of places to eat or have a drink with music playing most nights.
We traveled Ireland for 8 nights, our stop at The Dean was by far our favorite lodging. Staff was excellent and the room was perfect. If I'm ever on Cork again we will undoubtedly stay here again!
Great hotel in the bustling area with Cork City. Plenty of restaurants, cafes and pubs within a short walk and easy to be totally content. Would recoommend this hotel to other travelers as well!
Retro style hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooftop restaurant was lovely, too. Location is excellent, next to train station and walking distance to city centre(bout 10 mins)
As an alternative to over-priced hotels the new student building at Yugo Lee Point was a terrific alternative for a solo traveller spending a couple of nights in Cork city centre.
A well appointed modern hotel in a good location close to the city centre. A good base from which to explore the city. The staff were professional, very friendly and helpful.
