We had thought (like all other places we stayed in during our D.R. visit) that there would be some things missing or not working. My wife and I were delighted by our stay in the Hampton in Boca Chica, near the airport. I felt like I was in Florida on several occasions during the visit. The room was superb and well-equipped, as well as spotlessly clean. The hotel had a new feel to it, and it may have been recently opened or renovated; I don’t know. The staff were more than helpful. One of them got the cook to make me a special Dominican breakfast (without my prompting him and something not on the menu or on display) and was a hoot. The hotel was full of customers, but you would never know that it was so crowded. The place was quiet with some gentle background music. Nice.

I arranged for pick-up and drop-off to and from the airport with Merengue House for $30. I had to deal with some luggage delay issues with my airline and the host was so generous and patient to wait for me. He also dropped me off early to the airport at 3AM. Very accommodating, excellent communication, and felt safe. The place was clean and spacious with a comfy bed and big TV with Netflix. I enjoyed my stay and would highly recommend staying here!
