Beautiful house and garden and a lovely host couple. They gave me good advice about where to eat. Breakfast was simple but amazing (they offered me eggs but the baguette and croissant were enough for me - the fresh peach was to die for).
2 or 3 days would work well
Plenty to see around the Chateau and its grounds.
Hard to get to the Armistice clearing to see the train carriage without your own car, there's no real public transport to it. But exploring the area around there could make an interesting day There's a memorial to Buchenwald that I did not get to.
The pedestrianised old town is pleasant to walk around with a great Town Hall.

It is a small nice town.
It is a small nice town. You can reach all sightseeing locations by walking. It is also quite close to Paris in case you want to do a day trip to Paris. We drove back and forth, it takes around 70 minutes or so. Also you can take train. It is quite convenient.

Really lovely old town with buildings from different centuries - plus a royal palace. A vast forest is adjacent to the town with lovely villages. Lots to explore. We only stayed 1 night and had wonderful moules frites and fish & chips at Leon de Bruxelles. Very fresh food & very clean with excellent service.

Interesting attractive historic town.
Interesting attractive historic town. Lots to see nearby Inc in particular the armistice clearing. Good choice of restaurants and cafes. Although it is a minor point the tearoom at the Palais is crazy. Very attractive setting and tea served in exquisite China. But tearoom is a long walk from the Palais and has no toilet And the tea was a little cold.
This is a compact but well-equipped studio very close to the chateau at Compiègne. It's ideal for exploring the local area (free parking close by) and has everything you would need for a short self-catering holiday. Due to delays on Eurotunnel, I didn't arrive at the property until 2 am but the owner was very helpful in telling me that this wouldn't be a problem (in order not to disturb the other residents of the block, though, arriving after midnight should not be encouraged!).
The location of the hotel was perfect for us. Everything was close, reachable by food and the view to the river was beautiful especially during the sunset. The hotel was clean and the beds very comfortable. The breakfast was okay. Not too much variety but enough. The croissant was spectacular. The room was big enough for the 3 of us.
The man in the reception, who was in charge of everything in the hotel was very kind and willing to help.
Breakfast was good and there was plenty of choice. The hotel was easy to get to, good parking and the 2 nearby restaurants also offered discount when eating there if you show proof of stay at B&B. Shower was great, room was great; clean, spacious and comfy. The hotel staff were kind and thoughtful and gave our girls little complimentary gift bags, there were also games out to play in the morning in the reception area.
A wonderful apartment, perfectly equipped with everything you may need even for a prolonged stay, with two very comfortable bedrooms, a large living room with a dining table, and a terrace. It is right in the centre of Compiègne, with a huge supermarket just downstairs. The owner was very friendly and easy to communicate with. As a side note, it is on the first floor with no elevator.
Very nicely located. Walking distance from the center with lots of restaurants etc. Great to be able to park the car at the hotel. Rooms were a good size. Very friendly staff. The rooms are nicely decorated, nice curtains, but could do with a little update as long as they don’t make it to modern! Great you’re able to take the dog with you. Keep the homey feeling. Breakfast was good.
We stayed here underway to Paris. A great hotel to have a night of sleep before proceeding. We arrived around 2AM, where we were welcomed very kindly by the receptionist. The rooms looked like they were recently renovated, very stylish and clean and including a very comfortable bad. The breakfast is not very extensive, but the food itself is more than fine.
Great location in the centre of downtown Compiegne. Beautiful apartment with views of the town square. Centrally located to explore Compiegne. Excellent host that have prepared all amenities for a very comfortable and relaxing stay. The apartment is very tastefully decorated. A highly recommended stay with or without kids.
Increadible place to saty in Compiegne, the rooms are very nice, a lot of space and the decoration is really nice. Breakfast in bed if required and all to facilites very clean. The pool and the social area are also great. The stuff was very helpful with every need.
Spotless cleanliness, comfortable beds, tasteful decoration, great breakfast, fantastic location in the middle of Compiegne forest and charming hosts - all of that makes le Moulin de l'Ortille one of the best places we've ever stayed in France.
Hotel reception staff was very helpful and accommodating in regard to my arrival time and check-in time.
The decor of the hotel is clean, warm, and pleasing. Breakfast was satisfying. Location is -short- walk to city center.
Hotel was in a great location just a short walk away from Gare du Compiegne train station and close to the centre. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Good reliable process to leave baggage as well. Room was fairly clean.
