Pienza is a beautiful village, the Val d'Orcia is breathtaking. We were welcomed by Paola, who is a magnificent ambassador for the property, she really made us feel incredibly welcome. The restaurant was also excellent, we had a fantastic dinner. We came off season, (March) which added to the tranquility. I think you would come here to enjoy a quiet, peaceful retreat, and it is a nice base to explore the Tuscan wine region.

We expected much more from the stay in this hotel. The surrounding looks very luxury, like the gallery of art . But this is only that.

Pienza is small but has an excellent selection for dining.
Pienza is small but has an excellent selection for dining. Sight seeing in town is somewhat limited but affords terrific views over Val d'Orcia. If you like Pecorino cheese, you have to visit the shops in Pienza. Quick bite, try Pizzeria Pummaro near gate into old center. For charm and quality meal try Pane Vino & Zucchero. For all round the Trattoria la Buca Delle Fate is good. For a good hike outside of town, don't stop at the spot where they shot the Gladiator scene, keep going.

Pienza has one main street which means it can feel crowded when a relatively small number of people visit. There is limited free parking which is also used by residents.
There are a variety of small shops which mostly sell typical regional products. There is an abundance of Pecorino and hams. It is possible to buy a range of different quality of jewelry. There are also a few clothes shops.
There is a beautiful panoramic walk on the entrance from the North.
The town is blessed with a variety of restaurants and bars which are mostly tradition Tuscan food. There are also at least two ice cream shops.
The market takes place on Friday. In October there are a number of events such as the chocolate festival which means it gets very crowded on the weekend. There are limited public services such as clean bathrooms.
I limited the amount of time that I visited the town during my week long stay mainly due to access to parking. You have to pay 24/7 which is a problem for evening meal when travelling alone in the dark at a parking meter.

We utilised Pienza as a base from which to explore various towns within the Val D'Orcia, a world heritage area. We could have stayed longer to visit more towns and explore mountain biking trails. Pienza in itself is clean, beautifully restored, has chic dining spots and it was a privilege to have visited.

Pienza is now one of our favourite destinations in Tuscany.
Pienza is now one of our favourite destinations in Tuscany. We have visited San Gimignano, Siena, Monteriggioni. Montepulcino whilst travelling by car and have found Pienza to be so pretty and enjoyable to be in. Parking was easy to navigate and the laneways of Pienza were quiet and so charming. The walkway/lookout side of the town provided vistas that you would hope for. Pienza is also quite close to those classic Tuscan scenes/photos that you may have seen previously.

I loved absolutely everything about this place.
I loved absolutely everything about this place. From location, to comfort, to the friendliest host (Tommaso) ever. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to explore the Tuscan country side. It is close to Pienza and many other attractions and is just a gem of a place.
Staying in this hotel was magical. Stunning grounds and castle. Rooms are classic with modern touches, beautifully decorated and clean. Very thoughtful additions to the room (ex. shoe cleaner, makeup remover pads). Breakfast was diverse and delicious with local products available. What a fantastic base from which to visit southern Tuscany. Christina was a lovely host and namely helped us to bring our luggage up to our room. Very close to Pienza and a short drive to many other towns. Would have loved to have stayed here longer.
The best thing about this small boutique hotel is Lucca, the man who runs it. He is so helpful and accommodating. The rooms are very clean, and the breakfast is very good.
There is a lot of outdoor seating with umbrellas for either very sunny or inclement weather. It is located a few meters outside of the main town center. Most of all, there is free on-site parking, which, if you have ever been in Pienza, is great, as parking is at a premium here. There is also a pool that is very clean with crystal clear water.
A wonderful place to stay in beautiful Tuscany. All the beauties are within walking distance. Shop, café, laundry service are also close by. The hostess is very welcoming, although we didn't see her. Helped us to get from another town as we didn't catch the last bus.
The hotel is in the centre of the town. The room is clean and there is a coffee machine. We were very happy with it. I hope to return to wonderful Tuscany one day!
A perfect stay after a few busy days in Florence. 6 minute drive from Pienza, easy access to all the other lovely’s towns. our apartment was clean and comfortable with a lively view out to the garden. the breakfast was the best we’ve had in Italy thus far. incredible! highly recommend going to Podere Il Casale. Amazing view and incredible food. this is where you should do a cooking class but book well in advance.
This beautiful cozy agriturismo gave us the perfect countryside Tuscan ending to our busy 3 week tour of Italy. Our rooms were nicely decorated, the outside had many beautiful flower pots & fruit trees surrounded by olive trees. We were happy to slow down & enjoy the pool & other guests who were there. Our breakfast basket delivered to our patio each morning was a nice touch. We loved the quite countryside.
The property is located in the heart of Tuscany at a beautiful hill top minutes to a charming little town Pienza. The Agriturismo itself has a gorgeous garden that was perfect for lounging. The items included in the breakfast basket is sufficient for a quick meal in the morning. One can find plenty of nice restaurants in Pienza with good value. It’s also within driving distance to many Tuscan winery.
Loved the location. Right in the centre of pienza, just outside the walls so super short walk into the old part of town. We have 2 small kids and there was a nice little park 100m walk away. The staff at the hotel were super nice, accommodating and helpful. The hotel room was very clean and nice. Only suggestion would be to have a kettle in the room with coffee and tea. They didn't have this.
Andrea , the host, goes above and beyond. He greets you outside the apartment, has lots of maps and suggestions for touring the region. The apartment it super clean and cozy with extra attention to detail. Best of all,he leaves the fridge with breakfast essentials and warm croissant waiting for you in the morning at your door. Thank you Andrea for a piece of home during our stay in italy!
Book this place! Everything was beyond wonderful. The location is very close to Pienza. The host is amazing and kind. The food is incredible. One of the best dinners that I have had in Italy. If she is offering dinner do not hesitate. It is incredibly delicious. The rooms are comfortable and well decorated. There is attention to every detail. It was very relaxing and recharging.
Everything..Christine is an amazing host who treats her guests like Royalty in this Castle...From the room furnishings to the delicious fresh and bountiful breakfast our stay was the highlight of our 3 week stay in Italy. In the future we will try to book The Suite...an incredibly large 2 room environment with a wall to wall glass shower...fit for a King and Queen.
Beautiful Hotel with excellent breakfast. You can choose to have breakfast inside or outside.
Pool is clean and invited to have a refreshing water time
Parking places close to hotel
Way to Pienza needs 5 minutes by walk
Bus Station to Montepulciano for excample takes 2 minutes away by walk
Lot of restaurants around the hotel with beautiful view into Orcia valley
It was right in the village. It was a lovely home, nicely decorated and has a washing machine. The pictures are a good representation of the home. It is very clean and has a nice bathroom. Antonio was delightful to work with and available if needed. Easy access to the property. Pienza is a good location to visit other villages.
We stayed one night, it’s such a lovely B&B, a favourite of our time in Italy. We particularly enjoyed the terrace with amazing views and the breakfast was delicious. It was extremely clean and well looked after and the host was so genuine and kind. We had everything we needed and wished we could have stayed longer.
Tasty but small and simple breakfast in comparispn with other locations in Tuscany. Perfect location at town center in the heart of Unesco town. Parking ok at supermarket Coop, perfect hike trail from Montepulciano back to Pienza. Wonderfull terace view from the roof.
Beautiful hotel just couple of minutes from all the beautiful views and attractions of Pienza. Great room with a balcony, very comfortable bed, fantastic breakfast and very very helpful concierge and receptionist. Wish I could stay for longer.
L’Angolo di Pienza was an excellent place to stay the room was very comfortable and clean. It is well situated when visiting Pienza. The host was extremely helpful and there is a lovely coffee shop just beside the hotel.
The location was right by the main town square which was perfect. The restaurant at the hotel was fantastic, and the included breakfast in the morning was great. Staff was super friendly and helpful.
We loved the setting, view, history, location, pool, breakfast/restaurant, pretty much everything about it! We fell in love with Pienza and it was the perfect home base for exploring Tuscany.
