The Convento de São Francisco is a built in a 17th century Franciscan convent. The place itself is totally unique and my husband and I spent a good 20min just exploring the place. There are a lot of places to sit and enjoy the view. Breakfast was lovely and all the staff were really friendly and hospitable. The pool is great and they have a squash court which is an added bonus. The owner is a very nice man and as a rock concert was taking place by the hotel they have us earplugs and VIP tickets to attend - which we did and it was a lot of fun! We would definitely stay here again :)

La Quinta da Abelheira és una antiga casa d'estiueig i ofereix una piscina exterior envoltada d'una zona de gespa gran. Amazing location, the hotel is very well located, the staff are absolutely lovely and very helpful. The swimming pool is great (and the bar is a bonus), the whole lot feels very homely and classy. The breakfast is INCREDIBLE. The buildings are sparkling clean, smell good and are decorated with taste. Do not hesitate, it's a great place to wander about the island.

The Quinta de Santa Clara is a cozy property, 22 km from the famous Lagoa do Fogo, the highest lagoon in São Miguel Island. We loved everything! The place is designed with so much good taste, with lots of details to make your stay easy, the calm, really clean, no noises at all so it is the perfect place is you want to relax. They also have a swimming pool, an amazing garden with fruit trees… we will go back for sure!
